高等教育における「シラバス」はなぜ『重要』なのか

現代日本の高等教育における最大の問題点は「シラバス」の軽視である。教員は、授業と言う学習支援において、生活体験⇔暗黙知⇔形式知の相互展開の行い方を学ぶという原点を踏まえる必要がある。さらに、学習支援を、学生中心の学習コミュニティを通じて行うことで、学習効果を高めなければならない。この様な学習支援には、多くの要素を踏まえた授業設計が必要である。シラバスはその授業設計を踏まえ、学生にその授業を受講することのメリット、学習の楽しさ、有効性、及びそのための自己学習の課題などを提示する必要がある。
Why the Syllabus is Important in Higher Education

Abstract
The biggest problem in modern Japanese higher education is neglect of the syllabus, which is a form of learning support. Instructors need to return to the fundamental point of learning how to facilitate the mutual development among life experiences, tacit knowledge, explicit knowledge. Furthermore, learning support must enhance learning outcomes through student-centered learning communities. Such learning support requires lesson planning that incorporates many elements. The syllabus should both be, based on this lesson planning, and communicate to students the benefits of taking the course, the enjoyment of learning, its effectiveness, and the self-learning tasks necessary to achieve these goals.
