Abstract
The purpose of this study is to clarify how well the first- and second-year students understood and recognized the characteristics of professional universities, specialized courses, and expanded courses, and is also to investigate which of these factors affected students’ learning, acquisition and educational effectiveness of this university. The survey subjects were 141 students (PT: 98 and OT: 43) of the first and second years of Tokyo Professional University of Health Sciences, and were conducted using a questionnaire method.
The questionnaire consisted of a face sheet (department, gender, etc.), basic conditions of the university, characteristics of professional universities, specialized courses, expanded courses, quality of lectures, closeness of interpersonal distance, and future vision, and as performance indicators, the degree of mastery of specialized courses and expanded courses (management, organization, inclusive society) were asked.
The results of multiple regression analysis showed that the factors that had a statistically significant positive effect on the educational effect (total) at the professional university were “expanded courses factor”, “specialized courses factor”, and “future vision factor”, and it was suggested that the educational effect of students was enhanced by strengthening and enhancing the contents of these three factors through daily educational practice and curriculum reform.
