プロテスタント系保育所・幼稚園等における保育・教育理念の特色
神奈川県を事例として

本稿の目的は、キリスト教保育連盟の神奈川部会に加盟している園の保育・教育理念の特色を明らかにするものである。ウェブ上で保育・教育理念を公開しており、かつ、プロテスタント系の理念や行事に関する記載を含んでいる48園分をテキストファイル化し、KHコーダーを用いて、その特徴を析出した。
プロテスタント系園の保育・教育理念としては情操教育が重視されている。そこでの情操教育は、子どもが「生命」を尊重する心的態度を獲得し、「隣人愛」と言われるような、他人を愛し、愛される態度をもつ存在になることを目指している。プロテスタント系園でいう「生命」とは、神の似姿として創造された人間の命を意味している。そして、「生命」を与えられた子どもが、他の「生命」に出会い、その「生命」を尊重し、逆に尊重されるという実践的倫理が「愛」と言われるのである。
How Do Protestant Ideals of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Feature in Nursery Schools and Kindergartens in the Kanagawa Prefecture Area?

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the effect of Protestant ideals of early childhood education and care (ECEC) in nursery schools and kindergartens in the Kanagawa Prefecture area. We analyzed these features by focusing on Protestant words, phrases, and events or activities in ECEC, with a total of 48 cases.
Based on a KH coder analysis, it is clear that the cultivation of an aesthetic sensitivity is key in Protestantism. Through this cultivation of an aesthetic sensitivity, children learn to respect all creatures and to love others as they love themselves (as the Bible says). In this aesthetic sensitivity, “creatures” refers to human beings as imago Dei (in the image of God). “Love” is regarded as showing respect for one’s life and others’ lives, as both are of equal value.
