仏教系保育所・幼稚園における保育・教育理念の特色
―東京都内の日本仏教保育協会加盟園のウェブサイト分析から―

抄録
本稿の目的は、東京都にある、日本仏教保育連盟加盟園の保育・教育理念の特色を明らかにするものである。仏教に関連する文言を理念に掲げ、仏教的な行事や活動を行っている89園分の理念をテキストファイル化し、KHコーダーを用いて保育・教育理念の特徴を析出した。
仏教系園の保育・教育理念として、情操教育が重視されている。情操教育は、生命を尊重する心的態度、「生命」のネットワークの中に生かされていることに感謝する心（報恩感謝）を涵養することを目指している。そこでの「生命」には、草木も動物も人も全て含まれ、それら全てを命あるものとして捉え、大切にしようとする心的態度を作り上げることが目指されている。「報恩感謝」は、自分以外の生命と自分の生命との繋がりを自覚し、その「恵み」へ感謝することである。
How Do Buddhist Ideals of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Feature in Nursery Schools and Kindergartens in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area?

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the features of Buddhist ideals of early childhood education and care (ECEC) in nursery schools and kindergartens in the Tokyo metropolitan area. We analyzed these features by focusing on Buddhist words, phrases, and events or activities in ECEC, for a total of 89 cases.
From KH coder analysis, it is clear that the cultivation of aesthetic sensitivity in Buddhism is key. For example, one group of kindergarten children is becoming more and more sensitive through the act of folding their hands and bowing before Buddhist statues, and they enjoy their time spent in this kindergarten.
In short, the cultivation of aesthetic sensitivity through physical rituals is an important feature of Buddhist ideals of ECEC in nursery schools and kindergartens in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
