コロナ下における「介護留学生」の生活と健康
―日本福祉教育専門学校の留学生を対象とした配布票調査から―

新型コロナウイルス（COVID-19）の地球規模の蔓延は、日本各地の介護福祉士養成施設に通う留学生の生活にも大きな影響を与えた。大半の留学生がアルバイトで働く高齢者介護施設では、クラスター感染が相次ぎ、緊迫した状況となった。留学生たちは介護施設での仕事上のストレス、オンライン授業に切り替わったための学習上の困難、母国に残した家族への懸念など、様々な困難な状況に直面した。こうしたコロナ下での彼らの日常生活や健康上の問題などを解明するため、筆者が教員として勤務する日本福祉教育専門学校で学ぶ留学生を対象に配布票調査を実施した。その結果、回答者の92.7％がアルバイトでかなり注意を集中する必要があると回答し、85.2％が自身の日常生活に影響を及ぼしていたことが明らかとなった。また、こころの健康状態については、不眠やストレスを抱え、自身の健康状態に自信をなくしていた留学生が59.8％いたことも明らかとなった。

Abstract
The global spread of COVID-19 infections has had a big impact on the lives of international students studying at training institutions for certified care workers in Japan. Most of those students have worked as part-time workers at elderly-care facilities where a number of COVID-19 cluster infections occurred amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, they have had to face various problems such as increased job stresses, learning-related difficulties due to online lessons, and serious concerns over the health conditions of their family members remaining in their countries of origin. In order to identify their various problems related to daily life and mental health during the pandemic, the authors conducted a questionnaire survey of overseas students of Japan Welfare Education College, where one of the authors works as a lecturer. The results clearly showed that 92.7% of respondents said their part-time job required them to seriously focus their attention, and 85.2% said it had affected their daily lives. The survey also revealed that 59.8% of respondents suffered from sleeplessness and mental stress, and experienced a lack of confidence in their own health.
